The Completionist Edit
Though it looks similar to the original Tekken, Jirard notes how much smoother the character look and move compared to the original. He gives praise to the characters' expressiveness, giving each fighter uniqueness. The music is also appreciated as being of its time, but still broad and expressive.
In addition to the limb button system, Jirard talks about additional techniques added in Tekken 2, such as backthrows and counters. He praises this for its expansion of the established formula, as well as the variety in combat. He also talks about the numerous modes, offering some fresh perspective on the original formula.
As a whole, Jirard finds the game fun to master, though easy to cheat using a crouching right kick against computer opponents. However, it's a blast to play with friends. Overall, he finds it an improvement over the original.
