Super Metroid (スーパーメトロイド Sūpā Metoroido) is an action-adventure game and the third game in the Metroid series. It was designed by Nintendo Research and Development 1, programmed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was released in Japan on March 19, 1994, in North America on April 18, 1994, and in Europe and Australia on July 28, 1994.

Super Metroid was directed and written by Yoshio Sakamoto, and produced by Makoto Kano with Gunpei Yokoi serving as general manager. The game's story follows bounty hunter Samus Aran as she attempts to retrieve a stolen Metroid from the Space Pirates.

The CompletionistEdit

Super Metroid was originally reviewed on The Completionist as the debut episode on ScrewAttack.com on January 20th, 2012. It was later released on youtube on January 30th, 2012. Jirard Khalil set out to not only complete the game, but beat it in under 3 hours fully completed.

Jirard praises the way the game takes advantage of the Super Nintendo's capabilities to make a more foreboding atmosphere and soundtrack. Control customization and upgrades are also praised.

Unfortunately, Jirard Khalil forgot to save the aliens at the end of the game and as such, to many, he didn't complete the game (Jirard still considers it completed). This has sparked a Running Joke on both Super Beard Bros. and The Completionist. "You didn't save the aliens" / "Don't forget to save the aliens" / "SAVE THE ALIENS!".

Super Beard Bros.Edit

Originally started as something to do while Greg wasn't able to appear, people wanted to see more of Jirard and Alex sequence breaking through the game as their 6th playthrough. The series started on May 6th, 2013.

On March 14th, 2014 (Pi Day!), Jirard and Alex finally finish Super Metroid after months of not beating Super Metroid...almost 10 months later.

TriviaEdit

Episode 1 of the series is the first ever episode under the Super Beard Bros. DELUXE name, not to feature Greg.
