The Completionist Edit

Jirard reviewed No More Heroes 2 for the seventy-third episode of The Completionist.

Jirard finds the game's plot to be both insane and engaging, but is disappoint that it doesn't tie any loose ends from the first game. He is perfectly fine with the streamlined use of the overworld, only requiring the player to select where they want to go to get there, rather than requiring the player to drive. He's also fond of the 8-bit style mini-games, which he finds superior to the mini-games of the first game. What's more, cash isn't required to progress; another welcome change to Jirard. Though he has good things to say about the graphics, he admits the framerate suffers at times.

He wishes there was a little more to the gameplay, but has little complaints about it otherwise. The tiger powerup gets special attention as one of the funniest things in the game for Jirard. He also has some minor praise for the cat mini-games. He appreciates the ability to play as Shinobi and Henry, but wishes he could play as them more. One of his major criticisms of the game is that the AI is inferior to the previous game. He's also a bit disappointed that you don't actually fight every killer in the game. Overall, the completion aspect of the game is disappointing, as it gets you nothing and is somewhat tedious.
