The Completionist Edit
Jirard reviewed the Genesis version of Maximum Carnage for the twelfth episode of The Completionist. He was challenged to complete the game by Continue? at the end of their episode on the same game, where they state they love it.
Jirard appreciates the game catching him up to speed on the story quickly, but criticizes the long time it takes the comic book panels to finish displaying. Though overall, he doesn't care about the story, especially since it's a beat-em up.
He criticizes the music for being repetitive, and for the poor sound quality. He's also not too fond of the visuals or the repetitious levels and difficulty. Special grievance is saved for the final boss Carnage, who he calls broken.
Overall, Jirard doesn't like the game past the 20 minute mark, which he theorizes is why Continue? liked it: as they only played the first 20 minutes or so.
At the end of the episode, Jirard challenges Continue? to play Bubble Bobble.
- This is the first game Jirard has given a Look At It! rating.
