Jumping Flash!(Japanese: ジャンピングフラッシュ! Hepburn:Janpingu Furasshu!?) is aplatform video gamepublished by Sony Computer Entertainmentand developed by Exact Co., Ltd. and Ultra Co., Ltd for the PlayStation in 1995. The first instalment in theJumping Flash! series, it has since been re-released as a downloadable game for the PlayStation 3 andPlayStation Portable via thePlayStation Network in 2007.
The game follows the robotic rabbit named 'Robbit' as he searches for the missing Jet Pods which were scattered by the game's astrophysicistantagonist, Baron Aloha. The game is presented in a first-person perspective, in which Robbit must explore each section of Crater Planet to retrieve all the hidden Jet Pods, stop Aloha, and save the world from its destruction. The game was designed as atechnology demonstrator for the new PlayStation console and was first revealed in early 1994 under the provisional title of "Spring Man". Jumping Flash! utilises much of the same game engine asGeograph Seal, an earlier game by the same developer for the Sharp X68000.
Jumping Flash! has been described as being synonymous with Sony's début gaming hardware and as an early showcase for 3D graphics in console gaming. The game was generally well received from critics and publications alike; who praised the game for its graphics and its unique platforming style, but was quickly overshadowed by other 3D platformers of the fifth game generation such as Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot. However despite being overshadowed Jumping Flash! did spawn two sequels, Jumping Flash! 2 and Robbit Mon Dieu. The game was described as the third most under-rated video game of all time byMatt Casamassina of IGN in 2007.

The Completionist[]
Jirard reviewed the game for the fiftieth episode of The Completionist. Jirard has fond memories of the game as a kid, and is revisiting the game to see if it still holds up today.
In the opening skit, Greg returns from his honeymoon to find Jirard with his face covered in frosting. He proclaims, "I beat Netflix again." Greg tries to remind him back his senses, and gets a game with a "robotic bunny" by Jirard's request, which turns out to be Jumping Flash.
Jirard considers the graphics dated, but the colors somewhat make up for this for him. He also compliments the first person aspect to the game, despite being somewhat annoying. Though he finds the enemies to be tedious to deal with, though easy. As a whole, he finds the game short and easy, but praises the extra content after beating the game.
Throughout the review, Greg attempts to advertise his new space resort, drawing off inspiration from the game.
