Imagine: Wedding Designer is a Nintendo DS game in the "Imagine" video game series published by Ubisoft. It is a simulator for a wedding planner. It was released in 2008.

The Completionist[]

Jirard reviewed this game for The Completionist as part of the Month of Love. He primarily does the game because it was a fan suggestion, and had never played the game before.

Jirard berates the lack of a story, and the generic nature of the characters and situations. He's also critical of the music upon starting up the game, which sounds like it belongs in a funeral rather than a wedding. Graphics are also viewed negatively, claiming it looks like it was made by a four-year-old girl.

Special criticism is reserved for the ability to customize the groom and client's house, seeing as as it sets a bad example for girls hoping to get married some day.

Jirard is also confounded by the fact that the characters will randomly fall over during the wedding, with the player powerless to prevent this from happening.

The episode ends with a "protest" against the game, with a parody of John Lennon's "Imagine," with lyrics about how bad the game is.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first review of a handheld game, as well as the first review of a DS title.
  • The "Angry Video Game Jihad Rant" makes its debut here, though in this episode, it's only introduced as "Commence Rant."
  • This is the first game to receive a "Burn It!" rating, the lowest that a game can score on Jirard's scale.
