The Completionist Edit

Jirard reviewed the game for the nineteenth episode of The Completionist. It was done for the final review of the Month of Love, and was done as a heavily requested blind review.

Jirard and Greg are initially flustered by how attractive the titular character Catherine is. While talking about the story, Jirard lends heavy praise to its originality and storytelling. He's also fond of the anime style similar to that of the Persona series. However, he finds the minigame "Rapunzel" to be tedious. The nightmare phase of the main game is what he finds to be most fun and challenging, though frustrating at times. That being said, he's thankful for the undo button in Normal Mode. He also finds the bosses a bit unfair, especially the Catherine fight where Katherine has to follow the player.

He doesn't consider getting all the trophies worth it, claiming it's harder than Super Meat Boy. The trophy hunting gets a rating of "Forget It!"

Trivia Edit

  • This episode marks the birth of Shirraco The Laser Clown.
  • In an appearance on Grumpcade, a spin-off of Game Grumps, Jirard claimed that this was the hardest game he completed for the show.
