Better Call Saul is an American television crime drama series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spin-off prequel of Breaking Bad, which was also created by Gilligan. Set in 2002, Better Call Saul follows the story of small-time lawyer James Morgan "Jimmy" McGill (Bob Odenkirk), six years before his appearance on Breaking Bad as Saul Goodman; events after the original series are briefly explored.
The first season, which premiered on AMC on February 8, 2015, consists of 10 episodes. The show's 10-episode second season premiered on February 15, 2016. On March 15, 2016, the series was renewed for a 10-episode third season.
Like its predecessor, Better Call Saul has received critical acclaim. It has garnered several nominations, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, three Writers Guild of America Awards, two Critics' Choice Television Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. The series premiere held the record for the highest-rated scripted series premiere in basic cable history at the time of its airing.
The Completionist Edit
Like with Breaking Bad, Jirard is very impressed with the story and visuals of Better Call Saul. However, he also disappointed that the
show game's only interaction is the start button.
As he tries to talk about the final
episode level of Season 1 the game, Jirard is interrupted with various clips of him saying things out of context. Eventually, he realizes that he can remain a successful YouTuber just by reacting to other videos on YouTube. He then proceeds to react to a Let's Play video of ProJared playing Final Fantasy XIII.
- Like in his review of Superman 64 and Undertale, there's no real statistics section for this video.
- Due to the fact that this show's first season is on Netflix when the Completionist episode aired, and that the length of each episode is posted on Netflix when you're about to start it, we can assume that it took Jirard approximately 468 minutes to complete the first season's 10 episodes (this is including credits).
- That means it took 7.8 hours to complete the first season of Better Call Saul. Whether or not Jirard completed this in one take is unknown, but given his previous experiences with completing games, it is very likely that he did.
- Better Call Saul Season 1 has a Metacritic rating of 78, while Season 2 has a rating of 85. Sounds promising for a potential sequel to this episode next year...
